Arrival in Northern Cyprus

How to get to Northern Cyprus.
Cyprus, the pearl of the Mediterranean. A beautiful, warm, radiant island with olive trees, lemons, oranges, pomegranates and sweet figs. The fertile climate is conducive to relaxation and the discovery of new ideas. There is everything that nature can give to a person: mountains, sea, sun, sandy velvet beaches and rocky shores for diving. Even the turtles preferred this island for breeding offspring. This is Cyprus!
Everything is completely from nature, but not everything is completely from man. And this beautiful island has been divided into two parts since 1974. Now we will talk about the Northern side, which is called the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Recognition at the moment has been received only from Turkey, which is the guarantor of the security of Turkish Cypriots. This part of the island can be reached by air:
- via the Greek-Cypriot side, arriving at the airport of the city of Larnaca or Paphos. (Be sure to read how to do this correctly in our article " The border in the center of the island. Two peoples, one destiny.".
- Through Turkey. From Istanbul and Antalya, planes fly to Ercan Airport (Ercan), which is located in the city of Nicosia (Levkosha). (Different names of some cities are the legacy of the division of the island into two different linguistic peoples.)
- And by sea from Turkey. There is a ferry from Alanya and Mersin to Kyrenia (Girne). The schedule and tickets can be viewed on the website https://www.akgunlerbilet.com/online_bilet.php
For citizens of the Russian Federation, visa-free entry, as in Turkey (i.e., you will be stamped with a visa right at the airport. At the border control, submit a paper (by yourself, it always lies in a pile near the window where you present your passport). You will be stamped on arrival (the procedure is approximately the same as in Israel). On departure, show the same piece of paper. On the stamp, the border guard puts a permissive period of stay in the TRNC. This is usually one month. If you have to search for real estate for investment, you can report it at the border control and it is possible to get a visa for two months, maximum three. If you are already a happy owner of a house or apartment by the sea and are planning to get a residence permit, then ask the border guard to put a stamp on arrival in the passport itself. This is necessary to obtain a residence permit for the first time (read our article "Residence permit of Northern Cyprus").
